TopHat™ was founded in 2023 by board-certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Yormak, who saw an opportunity to bring the same level of thoughtful design and engineering to the golf cart experience as the game itself demands.

The founder
An avid golfer who decided to build a better solution.
Jeffrey Yormak is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, as well as an avid golfer and resident of a Florida golf community. After years of dealing with traditional golf cart enclosures that were cumbersome to set up, noisy in motion, vulnerable to wind, and lacking in style, he decided there had to be a better way.
In 2023, Jeffrey founded TopHat™ Cart Enclosures to create the solution he wanted on his own cart. Drawing on firsthand experience, he designed, prototyped, and secured U.S. patents for a retractable enclosure that closes easily with one hand and retracts automatically at the push of a button. In seconds, a cart can transition from open-air enjoyment to all-weather comfort, without zippers, snaps, or complicated setup.
The TopHat™ name reflects the product itself: protection from the elements with a refined, distinctive look. Modular, easy to install, and designed for major golf cart platforms,TopHat™ gives golf clubs, dealers, and lifestyle brands a premium enclosure that complements the cart and enhances the experience on the course.

To bring TopHat™ to market at the level of quality its design demanded, Dr. Yormak partnered with MODZ, one of the fastest-growing brands in the golf cart industry, supported by a nationwide network of more than 1,200 dealers.
MODZ builds and distributes the TopHat™ enclosure and manufactures the Extreme Weather Package, while RIDEMODZ serves as the exclusive U.S. online destination for TopHat™.

Protected by multiple U.S. patents.
The innovations behind TopHat™, including its one-hand closure, push-button automatic retraction, and modular attachment system, are protected by multiple U.S. patents.
Research, development, and engineering are all conducted in the United States.
Fitment
TopHat™ prototypes for Club Car Precedent, Tempo, and Onward, along with the EZGO RXV Modular Top, have been developed and tested, and are available in 2027.
